Donate
Shetland Webcams is sustained by the people who watch it. Your donation keeps cameras online, funds new soundscapes, and supports the maintenance of the most northerly live network in the UK.
Born from a successful RedEye Crowdfunding Campaign in May 2018, the network has grown to include Burradale Wind Farm, Kirkabister, Ronas Voe, Lerwick Boating Club, Burrafirth, and The Drongs.
Choose how you give — one-off, monthly, or annual.
Every tier unlocks RedEye access. Higher tiers add RedEye+ features: additional PTZ views, experimental soundscapes, and ad-free live streams.

Network running costs are covered by advertising and sponsorship. Donations go further.
Upgrade existing locations
Donations fund camera replacements, repairs, and infrastructure improvements across the network.
Add soundscapes
Experimental audio feeds bring the islands to life — wind, sea, and wildlife where microphones can be safely installed.
Support maintenance
Ongoing upkeep of remote sites in extreme weather is the single largest cost of running the network.
A note on unsponsored streams
Some of our unsponsored live streams may be taken offline randomly, but will continue to be available to our RedEye supporters.
A few minor changes based on user feedback.
RedEye
Provides access to 24-hour recordings on all public views and removes video ads from the live streams.
RedEye+
A further enhancement providing access to additional views (many are PTZ cams) and experimental soundscapes.
Pan-Tilt-Zoom for public viewing
The intention for 2025 is to offer PTZ cameras for public viewing if these are fully supported by advertising or sponsorship.
Lerwick Town Centre
There is work to do in Lerwick Town Centre. Increasing RedEye membership will support that project — it needs to be completely re-engineered to re-establish those views that were clearly very popular.
Thanks to everyone who supports us.
Shetland Webcams has come a long way since our successful original RedEye Crowdfunding Campaign that ended in May 2018.
Thanks to that initial support we have managed to replace and repair cameras at popular locations. Since then, we have also been able to add the Burradale Wind Farm, Kirkabister, Ronas Voe, Lerwick Boating Club, Burrafirth (in Unst) and The Drongs live streams to the network with more enhancements planned in 2025.
It is unlikely another crowdfunding campaign will ever be undertaken as this is not a sustainable way to maintain this platform, however, I often get asked how people can make donations.
Some users have requested one-off donations and some regular payments, so I hope the following options can work for as many people as possible.
Thanks to everyone who supports us through donations — it is you who make new things happen, and I hope you continue to get enjoyment from this live streaming platform.
